Clr. Ivan White Sheriff’s duties’s include presiding over the Annual Court Leet . Mayors and Sheriffs are selected by their fellow councillors and appointed at the public Annual Mayor Making Ceremony.Both are supported by the Mayor’s team, ably led by Sharon Gilbert and the City/Town Sergeants. The Mayor’s official car no. TR1.

Southampton City Council is to be congratulated on the completion of the Sea City Museum including the  iconic Pavilion-Exhibition space.  Well done to the contractors  & their teams.  The team who carried out the  interior layout deserve congratulations, too . It was opened-10th. Funds are available to create  a commemorative feature. Investigation is ongoing. When resolved-cost-design, manufacture, installation-City Council approval will be invited.  Senior Councillor has been given an outline of  the  proposal.

Although its present location has historic relationship to Jonas Nichols, necessary works to upgrade could cost £25,000.  If carried out its present location is not suitable. The suggested location could best be in the proposed Heritage Walk in the Central Parks. Necessary care could then be available.

August Rodin’s ‘Eve ‘ had a varied location in our City, apart from the Art Gallery- a spell at the Crematorium. Metal thieves prevent in such places as the open forecourt. The Information Bureau , likewise, had  various ‘homes’ including the Above Bar Precinct.
